What we aim to achieve in Computing
At Hillborough Junior School, we strive to offer pupils a computing curriculum that is interactive, engaging and inspiring. The pupils will learn vital skills that will allow them to succeed and thrive as active participants in the digital world we live in, providing them with opportunities to develop skills for the future.
Pupils have access to their own individual Chromebook, Ipads and an ICT suite equipped with 30 computers. With the resources available to pupils, children are well equipped to enhance their understanding of the four key areas that our computing curriculum is divided into which are; Using and understanding technology, programming & computational thinking, productivity & creativity, online safety and digital literacy.
What Computing looks like at Hillborough Junior School
The curriculum we provide gives pupils in each year group the opportunity to progress and build upon prior knowledge through a discrete set of learning objectives through the four key areas of computing. The resources available to pupils support pupils in the development of computing skills that are a major factor in enabling children to be confident, creative and independent learners. It is our intention that children have every opportunity available to allow them to achieve this.
