Using books and reading in class
At Hillborough we are passionate about reading and a lot of our work in English and other subjects is based on stories and non-fiction texts. He’s are some examples of children using different texts in their work.
Year 3 used The Tunnel to think about how to predict what might happen next in a story and to explore the idea of suspense.
Year 5 read Gangsta Granny which inspired work on British History and exploring the Tower of London and the Crown Jewels. The children produced wonderful non-chronological reports.
