Aspiring to excellence
As the spring term slowly arises and Mrs Howes, Mr O and Mr Stevens begin to scramble for the revision books and past papers, Year 6 pupils are already well into boosters sessions and starting from this week: The Big Pedal!
Within all subjects pupils continue to work hard, with plenty of writing tasks being completed (most recently, a persuasive letter to Mr Bradshaw regarding abolishing homework!), maths of all types being revised and reasoned with, as well as Gaelic football, bench ball and hockey all being sports played in PE.
Across the year group we have different pupils attending extra-curricular clubs that have recently participated in competitions/matches against other schools. Our netball and football teams (boys and girls) continue with their league matches with both teams recently winning. The town cross-country competition saw 5 members of year 6 compete, showing good form and strong placings overall. Additionally, from the summer term we have even more competitions with athletics, Gaelic football, tennis, cricket, dance and rounders all coming into the frame!
Like every year, we pass on a huge thank you to parents who have got their children to booster sessions. We hope that just like previous years, the hard work will be evident in July!
