At Hillborough, children have weekly music lessons with a specialist teacher and also have the opportunity to learn an instrument with an outside teacher as well as two whole-school singing assemblies.

Music is also an integral part of the performing arts programme at the school. Children take part in a year group production each year in which they act, dance, sing and showcase their musical skills to the rest of the school. Music is also a main feature of collective worship every day, with class teachers sharing the Music Passport - a wide breadth and depth of listening from across the ages and around the world.

All children are a member of the school choir and are encouraged to represent the school in public performances as well as school performances.
